Please review the below information prior to drop off of your vehicle

1 / PLEASE ALLOW 15-20 MINUTES WHEN DROPPING OFF YOUR VEHICLE

We kindly ask for 15-20 minutes of your time upon drop off, so that our team can conduct a pre-service visual inspection and consultation with you to ensure everything is covered in your selected package and your expectations will be met by the service you have booked. During this time, we encourage you to point out any areas of main concern and ask our team any questions you may have.

2 / WE DO NOT REMOVE, MOVE OR REPLACE ANY TYPE OF CHILD SEAT OR RESTRAINT SYSTEM

For liability reasons, we do not remove, move or replace any type of child seat or restraint systems. We ask that you please remove any child seats and booster seats before your booking appointment time if you wish to do so. Should the child seat(s) be left in the vehicle, we will do our best to clean around the child seat(s), but cannot promise your total satisfaction.

3 / WE DO NOT REMOVE OR REPLACE SEAT COVERS

If your vehicle is fitted with car seat covers and you would like the seats underneath to be detailed, please remove the covers prior to dropping off your vehicle. If the car seat covers are not removed, we will clean and detail the seat covers only (not the seats underneath).

4 / WE DO NOT REMOVE OR REPLACE ROOF RACKS OR ANY OTHER SECURED ACCESSORIES

If your vehicle is fitted with roof racks or any other accessories secured to your vehicle, we will not remove them for your detailing service. We ask that you please remove any roof racks or secured accessories before your booking appointment time, if you wish to do so. This is particularly recommended for services including machine polishing. Should the roof racks or accessories be left on the vehicle, we will do our best to detail around them, but we cannot promise your total satisfaction.

5 / WE DO NOT REMOVE OR REPLACE INTERIOR SEATS, PANELS OR OTHER SECURED ACCESSORIES

It is important to note that during the service, we do not dismantle, remove or replace any interior seats, panels or any other accessories secured to your vehicle. If you would like these items removed for the detailing service, we ask that you please do so before your booking appointment time. We will not replace any removed seats, panels or secured accessories.

6 / PLEASE REMOVE ALL PERSONAL BELONGINGS AND/OR VALUABLES FROM YOUR VEHICLE

Any items found during your service will be placed in a bag and left inside your vehicle. We will not take any responsibility for lost or damaged items.

7 / PLEASE CHECK THE PACKAGE YOU’RE BOOKED IN FOR COVERS ALL OF YOUR CONCERN AREAS

Please familiarise yourself with the package you are booked in for and exactly what is included. If there is anything else you'd like to add to your service, please advise us prior to your booking appointment time, or upon drop off of your vehicle so that we can confirm if there will be any additional costs or extra service time required.

8 / EXISTING DECAL & STICKER REMOVAL

If you have opted for decal/sticker removal during your service, please understand that there are sometimes unforeseeable risks associated with removing existing decals/stickers from client vehicles and whilst Townsville Elite Detailing take all care and precautions when carrying out the removal process, Townsville Elite Detailing hold no responsibility for any damages that may incur during this process.

Ceramic Coatings

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CERAMIC COATINGS:

Please review the below information prior to drop off of your vehicle

1 / PROTECTION

A Ceramic Coating is very different to Paint Protection Film (PPF) and does not provide protection against rock chips and very minor, if any, protection from scratches. Some installers make significant and sometimes untrue claims about the level of protection a ceramic coating will provide and at Townsville Elite Detailing, we caution you to take those claims with a grain of salt.

Ceramic Coatings are primarily used for UV protection, prolonging gloss levels, ease of cleaning etc. It should not be used to prevent stone chips and other paint hazards. Bird / bat droppings, bugs and hard water spots will still need to be taken care of immediately or else they can still etch the paint.

2 / PAINT ENHANCEMENT / CORRECTION

With all of our Ceramic Coating packages, we include a Gloss Enhancing Machine Polish intended to maximise gloss levels and prepare/prime the surfaces for the coating application. We will ask you to let us know about any concern areas on your vehicle’s paint and how you feel about the overall paintwork condition. If your main concern is to improve more significant defects such as existing scratches, swirls, marring or oxidisation prior to the application of a ceramic coating, this will require an in-person inspection and consultation prior to quoting or booking a service. This is because any amount of correction erodes your clearcoat, so we need to be sure that there is an adequate amount of paint on your vehicle to allow us to carry out the necessary processes to achieve your overall desired result.

3 / NON-FACTORY PAINT

Recent body or paintwork can create issues with ceramic coating application. Depending upon the methods used to cure the paint, and the coating, the ceramic coating can prevent off-gassing of the paint and create solvent pop or other issues. This does NOT apply to OEM/factory paint.

Please let us know if you have had any recent body or paintwork completed in the last 90 days, to the best of your knowledge. Many brand-new vehicles are damaged in shipment and are touched up (poorly) by dealerships prior to listing for sale. We make every attempt to spot these touch-ups prior to conducting the service and will notify you if we see them.

4 / MINOR ISSUES

We will often discover minor issues as we get deeper into the preparation process. We will stay in constant communication with you throughout the process. We do carry out a pre- service inspection upon drop off of your vehicle, however often times vehicles are too dirty or the lighting outside can hide problem areas until we see them inside (sometimes we might, for example, realise that a panel has been re-painted under our detailing lighting), which led to areas being missed during the initial inspection. We welcome you to see our five-star reviews on Google and Facebook to know that we will be up-front and honest with you every step of the way. Please also note that in even factory/OEM paint we have seen run, nibs or debris under the clearcoat.

5 / PAINT PERFECTION (OR LACK THEREOF)

We make every effort to make your paint as good to the naked eye as possible, while balancing the longevity of your clearcoat and paint. Please understand that not all scratches and likely able to be removed without compromising the clearcoat. There is no perfect paint. We try to make the vehicle as pristine as possible, balancing the negatives of compromising clearcoat or potential long-term issues.

6 / AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES OR DIY BRUSH WASHES

Although it may seem convenient, we strongly recommend avoiding automatic car washers, as they to use high alkaline & extremely acidic chemicals, allowing them to ‘clean’ the vehicle without friction and these products are not safe for ceramic coatings. Other machines sometimes scrub the paintwork with brushes which can cause scratching & abrasion to the protected surface. If you need to use the self-serve car wash, NEVER use the provided brush as there may be rocks, dirt or debris trapped in the brush that could scratch your vehicle. Instead, hand-wash using a microfibre wash mitt and dry with a clean microfibre drying towel.

7 / WASHING YOUR CAR

While a Ceramic Coating will increase ease-of-cleaning abilities, it is not a ‘self-cleaning’ product. Applying a Ceramic Coating is a great decision that will enhance the gloss of your vehicle, provide UV protection and make it far easier to clean (such as removing bugs). However, it will still get dirty. Ceramic Coatings will make it easier to remove contaminants, but applying a ceramic coating does not mean that you no longer need to clean your car. Water spots, bugs, bird droppings, tar, acid, tree sap etc. can still etch your paint and needs to be removed immediately or avoided altogether.

8 / ANNUAL INSPECTIONS & COATING MAINTENANCE

After application, it is not compulsory, although we recommend booking your vehicle in for our Ceramic Coating Maintenance Detail around every 12 months. Many issues such as the coating ‘clogging’ when the vehicle gets too dirty or has built-up contaminants, can be solved & prevented with a decontamination detail. We are also happy to inspect your vehicle once a year and offer the option of a ceramic ‘topper’ every 1-2 years to help refresh & boost your coating. Please feel free to enquire with our friendly team if you would like recommendations for at-home maintenance between appointments/inspections.

Paint Protection Film

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT
PAINT PROTECTION FILM (PPF):

Please review the below information prior to drop off of your vehicle

1 / DRYING FILM

Paint Protection Film or PPF is applied using a wet application method which takes 3-4 weeks to fully dry. Do not wash the vehicle for the first 14 days after installation. You may notice some tell-tale signs of water under the film. We make every effort to have your film completely dry prior to delivery, but if you see some water spots under the film, avoid touching them. They will evaporate. Any air left behind we can easily remove once the film is fully dried.

2 / WARRANTY

Our Gloss Finish Paint Protection Film carries a 10 Year Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty against yellowing, cracking and fading. This warranty does NOT cover abuse (such as getting too close with a pressure washer, cutting/lifting the film or the use of automatic car washes), or damage from accidents or debris. Yes, the film will protect from most rock chips. However, there is a chance that a sharp/large enough object traveling at a high rate of speed could “chip” or cut the paint protection film (this goes for any type of PPF, even the thickest types). This is not covered under warranty. The film is designed to sacrifice itself to save your paint.

3 / EXISTING COATINGS

The vehicle should not already have an existing ceramic coating on the paint. If there is an existing coating on the paint, we can make every effort to remove it first, BUT we cannot guarantee that it will not lift in certain places on the edges. We use special prep sprays and polishes to remove dealership-installed (or other) ceramic coatings, but certain areas are difficult to remove.

4 / EXISTING STONE / ROCK CHIPS

Please note that current chips will appear as PPF imperfections if we install PPF over them. We have several methods to mitigate the overall negative appearance of rock/stone chips under the film, but the older the vehicle, the more likely that it has existing stone chips that will stand out. This is especially true on dark or black vehicles, as the “dots” show as light grey/white specs. We have installed Paint Protection Film (PPF) on 5+ year old vehicles without an issue and we have installed it on vehicles with less than 1000 kms that have arrived with existing rock/stone chip imperfections and even some that have come straight from the dealership that already have chips.

5 / COMPUTER SOFTWARE / CUSTOM CUTTING

We install most Paint Protection Film by using our in-house computer software & plotter (computer-cut patterns/templates). As such, there will be slight exposed edges in certain areas that are unavoidable, although we try to minimize this as much as possible by wrapping every edge that we possibly can. We make every attempt to make the installation as seamless as possible, but sometimes it happens, as some newer cars have complicated body lines that require multiple pieces seamed together. This is more noticeable on matte finish wraps and white/lighter coloured vehicles. On lighter vehicles, the seam will be more evident.

Where a seam is necessary, dirt will eventually build up on the seam, however it can be carefully maintained and cleaned. You may clean these surfaces lightly with a soft detailing brush. Opting to have a PPF Coating applied over the top of the PPF will also help to make cleaning easier.

6 / BADGE AND TRIM REMOVAL

On certain installations we may have to remove badging or other parts of the car to provide the best experience for you, should you request it. For example, doing a full vehicle application, or an application on the bonnet/hood usually requires us to remove the bonnet/hood emblem. The customer is responsible for the cost to replace the badge, if, for some reason it is a one-time use by the manufacturer (we will do research and warn you prior to installation). All attempts will be made to retain all OEM badges and lettering unless the customer wishes otherwise.

We make every attempt to NOT remove badging unless absolutely necessary or requested. Many emblems and decals are on back order.

7 / IMPERFECTIONS

We strive for perfection in our installations, but due to the nature of covering a vehicle in an adhesive film, it is likely that you will see some degree of dust, contamination or other debris under the film after installing. We attempt to take every precaution possible to achieve a near-perfect install, with the understanding that no installation will actually be perfect. We will not allow it to leave if we would not be satisfied on our own vehicle. Please note that the older the vehicle, the more likely it is to have dirt hidden in hard-to-find areas without a complete disassembly of the vehicle (which we do not do). This increases the odds of having slightly more specs of dirt under the film. Again, we make every attempt to mitigate this with our advanced installation techniques.

If your goal is to find an imperfection in the film, you will find something. We urge clients to consider that it is a protective film and not a completely invisible film with no imperfections.

8 / FACTORY PAINT

It is important to note that factory paint is not perfect. Your new car will more than likely have several minor blemishes, drips, runs or nibs that may visually affect the install once PPF is applied (e.g. minor bubbles over nibs in paintwork etc.) and this is unfortunately often out of our control as professional installers. Our team carry out thorough inspections prior to and during the application process – if at any point we find excessive factory paint defects, or major defects such as existing stone chips, paint chips, paint failure, overspray etc., our team will promptly notify you before proceeding with the application.

9 / NON-FACTORY PAINT

Townsville Elite Detailing cannot be held liable for non-factory paint, as it is often improperly prepped and may lift. This includes non-factory paint such as dealership touch-ups prior to delivery, that are not always as evident or that you may not even be aware of. OEM/Factory Paint will typically not lift. We will make every attempt to identify if a vehicle has been re- painted and will get your consent prior to continuing.

10 / HEADLIGHTS

As a standard, we do not apply Paint Protection Film (PPF) to headlights as part of our packages. There is a risk on some newer headlights which can delaminate the protective headlight coating. We are confident that there is a greater risk of this issue than damaging your headlight with a rock chip. That said, if you would like us to install PPF on your headlights, please let us know and we can discuss options.

11 / UNSUITABLE SURFACES FOR PPF

There are some surfaces that may not be suitable for PPF (any textured surfaces – be it plastic or otherwise, some trivial accent pieces that aren’t facing forward, some instances of grilles or fake chrome pieces that are cheaper to replace than to have us protect, interior electrical areas due to wet application etc.).

12 / LIFTING

It is possible, and normal within the industry, to notice some minor lifting that needs to be trimmed at the two-week mark post installation. We make every attempt to avoid this situation, but it is normal to have to trim some areas. We offer a complimentary inspection approx. 14 days following installation for all of our PPF services to check for this.

13 / RELIEF CUTS

You may notice some “relief” cuts in certain areas. Unfortunately, PPF has difficulty bending/stretching over certain areas due to the thickness of the film. Unlike vinyl wraps, which are a little more pliable and about 1/3 as thick, PPF might require seams or relief cuts. As most of our patterns are computer-cut, we try to stick within the parameters of the computer patterns, which have seams and relief cuts built in.

14 / REFUNDS

At Townsville Elite Detailing, we do not issue refunds. We do, however, if necessary (this is extremely rare), replace film on entire panels, if we deem a mistake during install has occurred that requires a replacement, as opposed to trimming or fixing. We use a general industry standard at our discretion to make this determination. We want all clients to be satisfied with all work received and strive to maintain our five-star review rating.

Window Tint

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT WINDOW TINT:

Please review the below information prior to drop off of your vehicle

1 / PLEASE DO NOT ROLL YOUR TINTED WINDOWS DOWN FOR 2 DAYS

It is important not to wind down your windows for at least 48 hours after installation. This gives the film time to dry and adhere to the glass properly. Rolling your windows down too early could result in the film lifting from the glass.

2 / DRYING TIME

It is important not to clean the glass during the drying period, which is normally 30 days. A hazy or milky appearance and moisture bubbles may be evident soon after the initial application – this is completely normal. Please do not squeegee, prod or poke any bubbles. They will slowly disappear during the curing process. If you see anything unusual after 30 days, feel free to contact us and we will take care of any problems.

3 / IMPERFECTIONS

After curing, some small particles or imperfections may remain in your window tint. We strive for perfection in our installations, but due to the nature of the product, some degree of dust contamination or minor imperfections will be present in every window tint application, especially on older or dirtier vehicles. They are normally visible from the outside and are inherent to a film adhesive system. They will not affect the performance of the film in any way, nor will they start to bubble over time. Again, we make every attempt to mitigate this with our advanced installation techniques, however if your goal is to find an imperfection in the film, you will find something.

4 / CLEANING

To clean, simply spray an Ammonia Free Glass Cleaner and wipe off lightly with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cloths, brushes, powders or ammonia-based window cleaner.

5 / WARRANTY

Your window tint has a Lifetime Warranty. This means that if the film ever discolours, fades, bubbles, delaminates or peels away from the glass due to installer error, we will replace it without charge. This warranty is available for the original purchaser only and is not transferable. It is also limited to the replacement of film and associated labour costs. This warranty does not cover film damaged by scratching, glass failure, glass breakage, leakage glass, film which has been subjected to mistreatment, abuse, improper care or film which has had stickers applied, suction cups or similar are attached. This warranty does not cover any consequential loss however caused. If a warranty service is required, please contact our team to arrange an inspection. Proof of original ownership and your Townsville Elite Detailing Tax Invoice will be required to make a claim.

6 / TAKE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE YOUR WINDOW TINT

Please be very cautious when unbuckling your seat belt that it does not hit the window as it retracts, which could leave a scratch or chip. The same holds true for rings, pets, children and using extra care when loading your vehicle that you do not allow anything to rub against the tint which can cause damage to the window tint that is not covered under warranty.

7 / EDGES

Most vehicles have a black ceramic “frit” edge on the rear window and windshield. Sometimes this ceramic edge is straight and flat, or sometimes it will have a dotted edge. These black ceramic dots are quite thick on most cars and can prevent the window film from sticking to the glass between the dots. This results in a white or silver looking strip trimming the glass and, in most cases, it cannot be avoided. This is more noticeable on some cars than others.

 TIPS & WARNINGS

- Do not stick registration labels, stickers, suction cups or similar to the tinted glass

- Be mindful of pets scratching on your windows

- Clean the inside of the door rubber window seal frequently to prevent dust build up which can cause scratching, as this is not covered under warranty
